From Nicola: 

As I contemplate our trip to India the words of a well-known worship song echo in my head: “Hungry I come to you, For I know you satisfy, I am empty but I know your love does not run dry, So I wait for you”.

I want to approach this trip hungry to learn more of God, more from God, see more of Him at work, and learn more from my brothers and sisters in Christ. But most of all to wait on God and what He wants to teach me, both about Him and about me.

I am excited to connect with local Christians and learn how they share the good news of Jesus in their contexts. I am currently living in a underserved, diverse neighbourhood in Sheffield and I am really keen learn how to connect with my neighbours and people who would not traditionally go into a church building. On my return from India, I particularly want to encourage my church to become an accessible place for people from every nation. It will be such a privilege to learn from the people we meet and see church done in a different context, I can't wait to get out there!

 From Jonathan:  Jonathan When I was 21 I went to India for the first time. I had never been abroad before and it was quite literally a culture shock! I was overwhelmed by the sights, sounds and smells, but also by the warmth and welcome of the people. It was also hard coming home to our "green and pleasant land" after experiencing such challenging levels of poverty and spiritual darkness. I go this time, significantly older and hopefully a bit wiser, but certainly more prepared! I go also with a sense of connection I didn't have before. Through Biglife, I have heard their stories and seen their faith in action. I am excited about having an opportunity to learn from my brothers and sisters in India, to give a little and receive much.
